Frequently Asked Questions

Vibrators

Can I take my vibrator in the bath?

While some vibrators are advertised as waterproof, we never suggest submerging your sex toy in liquid. Waterproof sex toys are great for shower play and wet environments and will have an "IPX" rating on the product page.

What's the difference between a beginner and non-beginner vibrator?

We categorize vibrators as "beginner friendly" if they're guaranteed to have multiple vibration modes including a low-power vibration mode. This allows you to find that perfect balance of vibration intensity and pleasure while avoiding concerns of a toy being too overwhelming.

What type of internal batteries do vibrators have?

Your product may contain one of two types of batteries:

  1. NiMH (nickel-metal) batteries are more common in low priced rechargeable vibrators.
  2. Lithium-ion batteries are more common in higher priced rechargeable vibrators.

Are "Premium Brand" sex toys better?

Not in all cases. While they're generally more expensive, premium sex toy brands do offer several advantages depending on what matters to you:

  • Manufacturer warranties and support are typically much better with premium brands,
  • The overall experience is more consistent across their products,
  • Companies may be based in your country, supporting local economies and jobs.

Can vibrators be used for anal?

Yes, but be careful! If your toy has enough insertable length, you can use your vibrator for anal but vibrators typically don't have flared bases and could get stuck if you insert it too far.

How do I clean my vibrator?

Wash your vibrator in warm water with scent-free soap or anti-microbial toy cleaner. Soap gets the job done in a pinch, but anti-microbial toy cleaner will kill bacteria while preserving your toy's finish.

Don't submerge the toy in water and be mindful of areas containing buttons or charging ports. For these areas, use a damp & soapy cloth to gently clean the surface.

Where can I store my vibrator?

Most vibrators can be stored anywhere including your dresser or nightstand. However, it's best to store them in dry and cool spaces to reduce wear on the toy. Never leave your vibrator exposed to direct sunlight or in hot areas for long periods of time.

How do I dispose of old vibrators?

Old vibrators are considered e-waste and shouldn't be thrown out in your regular garbage. You can take these steps to dispose of your old vibrator:

  1. Clean your sex toy thoroughly.
  2. Wrap your sex toy in a paper or plastic bag if you want to discreetly recycle your toy.
  3. Take your sex toy to an e-waste disposal site in your municipality.

Canadian customers can learn more about e-waste and find disposal sites by clicking here.

Shipping

Who is your shipping provider?

Sex Toys Depot uses Purolator for all orders when possible. In cases of shipping to PO box addresses, we must use Canada Post. For more rural areas, Purolator may hand your package to a third-party delivery company for the "final mile" of the delivery.

What countries do you ship to?

We specialize in express shipping for Canada & United States. While we do ship to other countries, shipping price and quality of service will depend on your local postal service.

What if my package is stolen?

If you're worried about porch pirates, Purolator offers a "pickup at location" option, where you can redirect your package to one of their pickup locations. Photo ID may be required to pick up your package. This option is available through your tracking link URL which will be generated the following business morning.

In general circumstances, if your package is stolen, our customer service team will work with you to make it right.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Standard shipping normally takes 2-4 days for Canada & United States orders. For other international orders, standard shipping normally takes 5-14 days.
